Every week, writers from across Greater Manchester (and beyond) bring brand new work to our evening. Here are a few familiar regulars sharing original acoustic songs in the hall.

Our Host on piano and guitar

Alan Bitterman

Alan was a featured artist at the very first Acoustic Café in October 2016. He has been the host since 2021 and plays the piano and guitar. Alan plays songs he wrote in New York and Manchester over quite a few years and strongly encourages people to take up music and have a go.

Local Legend

George Borowski

George was one of the first people to support the Acoustic Café. He pops in from time to time and it's always great to rub shoulders with someone who has played all over the world including Wembley with Meatloaf and is still gigging constantly all over the North West.

Lyrically smooth

Cliff Cheetham

Cliff came along to a featured artist evening and has been a regular ever since. He plays a baritone ukulele and ca deliver delightful songs of his own or unique interpretations of popular songs. His own featured artist evening has resulted in a very popular CD recording made in house.

Hall Acoustics

The barrel vault ceiling and plaster walls catch every plucked string, giving unamplified instruments an organic bloom that no studio reverb can replicate.

New songwriters are always encouraged to take a turn. Pull up a wooden chair, pour a mug of tea, and test your newest lyrics in a listening room built for unamplified songs.
